Welcome to Pure Love Ragnarok Online ("Pure Love Ragnarok", "PLRO", "Server", "we", "us", or "our").

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Pure Love Ragnarok Online private server, website, game client, control panel, Discord/community channels operated by us, and any other services associated with Pure Love Ragnarok (collectively, the "Service").

By creating an account, downloading the game client, connecting to the Server, or otherwise using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms.

If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not create an account or use the Service.

1. About Pure Love Ragnarok

Pure Love Ragnarok is a community-operated, unofficial private server project based on the Ragnarok Online game experience.

Pure Love Ragnarok is not an official Ragnarok Online server and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially connected to Gravity Co., Ltd., Gravity Interactive, GungHo Online Entertainment, or their respective subsidiaries, affiliates, publishers, or licensees.

"Ragnarok Online", "Ragnarök Online", and related intellectual property remain the property of their respective rights holders.

Pure Love Ragnarok does not claim ownership of third-party intellectual property used or referenced by the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be legally permitted to use the Service under the laws applicable to you.

By using the Service, you confirm that:

  • The information you provide during registration is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
  • You will not intentionally provide false information for the purpose of abusing the Service.
  • You are responsible for complying with the laws applicable to you.
  • You will comply with these Terms and all published Server Rules.

If you are under the applicable age of consent or otherwise require parental or guardian permission to use online services, you should obtain such permission before using the Service.

3. Account Registration

Some features of the Service require an account.

You are responsible for:

  1. Providing accurate registration information.
  2. Keeping your username and password confidential.
  3. Maintaining the security of your account.
  4. All activity performed through your account.
  5. Immediately notifying the Staff if you believe your account has been compromised.

You must not:

  • Share your account with other people.
  • Sell, rent, lend, or transfer your account without explicit permission from the Staff.
  • Create accounts for the purpose of evading a punishment.
  • Use another person's account without authorization.
  • Impersonate another player, Staff member, Game Master, or administrator.

Pure Love Ragnarok Staff will never intentionally ask you to disclose your account password.

4. Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your own account and computer.

Pure Love Ragnarok is not responsible for account loss or compromise caused by:

  • Password sharing.
  • Phishing.
  • Keyloggers or malware.
  • Downloading unauthorized software.
  • Sharing account credentials.
  • Using the same password on insecure services.
  • Negligence or failure to maintain reasonable account security.

If an account is compromised because of user negligence, the Staff may attempt to assist with recovery, but recovery is not guaranteed.

5. Game Content and Virtual Property

Characters, levels, experience, items, equipment, cards, zeny, currencies, tokens, achievements, rankings, guilds, and other digital assets existing within the Service are collectively referred to as "Game Content".

Game Content:

  • Has no cash value outside the Service.
  • Cannot be exchanged for real-world currency through Pure Love Ragnarok.
  • Is provided for use within the Service only.
  • May be modified, removed, reset, or otherwise changed by the Staff when necessary.

You do not acquire ownership of the underlying software, server data, or intellectual property merely by obtaining or using Game Content.

Pure Love Ragnarok may modify game mechanics, item statistics, drop rates, NPCs, maps, quests, rewards, progression systems, or other Game Content when necessary for balancing, development, security, or maintenance.

6. Server Rules and Fair Play

Players must follow the official Server Rules and Code of Conduct.

The following activities are prohibited:

6.1 Cheating and Unauthorized Software

You must not use:

  • Bots.
  • Automated gameplay software.
  • Macros that provide an unfair gameplay advantage.
  • Speed hacks.
  • Packet manipulation tools.
  • WPE or similar packet editing tools.
  • Memory editing tools.
  • Unauthorized game clients.
  • Injectors or DLL modifications intended to provide an unfair advantage.
  • Any software designed to automate gameplay or circumvent Server security.

Quality-of-life tools may only be used where explicitly permitted by Pure Love Ragnarok.

6.2 Exploiting Bugs

Players must not intentionally exploit bugs, glitches, unintended mechanics, duplication bugs, database errors, or other vulnerabilities for personal advantage.

If you discover a significant bug, you should report it to the Staff.

Examples include:

  • Item duplication.
  • Zeny duplication.
  • Abuse of NPC exploits.
  • Abuse of quest or reward exploits.
  • Bypassing intended restrictions.
  • Manipulating game mechanics to obtain unintended rewards.

Continuing to exploit a known bug after discovering it may result in severe punishment.

6.3 RMT and Real-Money Trading

Real-money trading ("RMT") is prohibited unless explicitly authorized by Pure Love Ragnarok.

Players must not buy, sell, exchange, or broker:

  • Accounts.
  • Characters.
  • Zeny.
  • Items.
  • Equipment.
  • Game currencies.
  • Services.
  • Guilds or other Game Content

for real-world money outside an officially authorized system.

Pure Love Ragnarok is not responsible for losses resulting from unauthorized RMT transactions between players.

Scams involving unauthorized RMT may not be recoverable.

7. Donations and Support

Pure Love Ragnarok may provide optional donation or support packages to help cover server hosting, development, infrastructure, maintenance, security, and community costs.

Donations are voluntary contributions made to support the continued operation and development of Pure Love Ragnarok.

Where applicable, supporters may receive digital benefits, cosmetic items, VIP status, currencies, or other in-game rewards.

Unless otherwise stated:

  • Donation rewards have no real-world cash value.
  • Donation rewards cannot be exchanged for cash.
  • Donation rewards are intended for use within Pure Love Ragnarok.
  • Donation rewards may be changed, adjusted, or discontinued for balancing, technical, or operational reasons.
  • Donation rewards may be removed if they were obtained through fraud, exploitation, unauthorized transactions, or violation of these Terms.

Chargebacks and Payment Fraud

Attempting to reverse or dispute a legitimate payment after receiving its associated digital rewards may result in the suspension or permanent termination of the associated account.

Fraudulent transactions, stolen payment methods, unauthorized transactions, or abuse of payment systems may result in immediate account restriction or termination.

Pure Love Ragnarok reserves the right to investigate transactions that are suspected of fraud, abuse, or violation of these Terms.

8. Player-to-Player Trading

Players are responsible for verifying transactions before confirming them.

Pure Love Ragnarok Staff generally cannot guarantee recovery from voluntary player-to-player transactions involving:

  • Incorrect items.
  • Incorrect quantities.
  • Accidental trades.
  • Player scams.
  • Unauthorized RMT.
  • Transactions conducted outside the official game systems.

The Staff may investigate transactions involving suspected exploits, duplication, fraud, or other violations of the Server Rules.

9. Community Conduct

Players are expected to maintain a respectful and enjoyable environment.

The following behavior is prohibited:

  • Harassment.
  • Threats.
  • Hate speech.
  • Discrimination.
  • Racist or derogatory statements.
  • Religious or ethnic provocation.
  • Sexual harassment.
  • Excessive vulgarity directed at other players.
  • Doxxing or sharing another person's private information.
  • Impersonating Staff.
  • Fraudulent or deceptive behavior.
  • Intentionally disrupting community activities.
  • Advertising competing private servers without permission.
  • Maliciously spreading false information about the Service.
  • Any behavior that threatens the safety of the community.

These rules may apply to official Pure Love Ragnarok community spaces, including Discord and other official communication channels.

10. Character and Guild Names

Pure Love Ragnarok may rename, remove, or restrict names that are considered inappropriate.

Names may be rejected if they:

  • Impersonate Staff.
  • Impersonate another player.
  • Contain offensive or discriminatory content.
  • Contain explicit sexual content.
  • Promote illegal activities.
  • Contain hate speech.
  • Intentionally resemble Staff or official system characters.
  • Violate community standards.

The Staff may request that a player change an inappropriate name.

11. Impersonation of Staff

Players must not impersonate:

  • Administrators.
  • Game Masters.
  • Developers.
  • Moderators.
  • Support Staff.
  • Official Pure Love Ragnarok representatives.

Players must not falsely claim to have Staff authority or use names, guilds, Discord accounts, websites, or other identities designed to deceive other players.

12. Advertising and Competing Services

Advertising another private server, commercial service, website, or unrelated product through Pure Love Ragnarok's official channels may be prohibited.

This includes advertising through:

  • In-game chat.
  • Character names.
  • Guild names.
  • Vendor names.
  • Discord.
  • Website comments.
  • Support channels.
  • Other official Pure Love Ragnarok communication platforms.

The Staff may remove such content and take appropriate disciplinary action.

13. Punishments

Violations of these Terms or Server Rules may result in disciplinary action.

Depending on the severity and circumstances, possible penalties include:

  1. Warning.
  2. Chat restriction.
  3. Temporary mute.
  4. Temporary suspension.
  5. Character restriction.
  6. Removal of illegal or exploited Game Content.
  7. Zeny or item removal.
  8. Rank or leaderboard removal.
  9. Account suspension.
  10. Permanent account ban.
  11. IP or hardware restriction where technically and reasonably necessary.
  12. Removal from official community channels.

The Staff may consider:

  • Severity of the violation.
  • Player history.
  • Previous violations.
  • Intent.
  • Damage caused to other players or the game economy.
  • Cooperation during investigation.
  • Whether the violation was repeated.

Not every violation requires a warning before punishment.

14. Ban Evasion

Players who attempt to evade a punishment by creating or using another account may have the additional account restricted or permanently banned.

Ban evasion includes, but is not limited to:

  • Creating a new account after a permanent ban.
  • Using another player's account.
  • Using another person's identity to access the Service.
  • Circumventing technical restrictions.
  • Returning to the Service while knowingly evading a Staff punishment.

15. Staff Investigation

Pure Love Ragnarok Staff may investigate suspected violations of these Terms and Server Rules.

Investigations may involve reviewing relevant technical information, including where reasonably necessary:

  • Account information.
  • Character information.
  • Game logs.
  • Trading records.
  • Chat records.
  • Login information.
  • Transaction history.
  • Server-side activity.
  • Security and anti-cheat information.

The purpose of such investigation is to protect the integrity, security, and fairness of the Service.

16. Bug Reporting

Players are encouraged to report serious bugs and security vulnerabilities through the official support channels.

Players must not publicly distribute instructions for exploiting vulnerabilities or encourage other players to abuse them.

The Staff may reward legitimate bug reports at its discretion.

17. Service Availability

Pure Love Ragnarok does not guarantee that the Service will always be:

  • Available.
  • Accessible.
  • Error-free.
  • Free from downtime.
  • Free from bugs.
  • Free from data loss.

The Server may experience downtime due to:

  • Maintenance.
  • Updates.
  • Infrastructure problems.
  • Security incidents.
  • DDoS attacks.
  • Hardware or software failures.
  • Network problems.
  • Emergency situations.
  • Development changes.

Whenever reasonably possible, planned maintenance may be announced through official channels.

18. Data Loss and Rollbacks

Although reasonable efforts may be made to maintain backups, Pure Love Ragnarok does not guarantee that all Game Content can always be restored.

The Staff may perform a rollback when necessary to address:

  • Database corruption.
  • Duplication exploits.
  • Major bugs.
  • Security incidents.
  • Economic damage.
  • Server instability.
  • Other circumstances that threaten the integrity of the Service.

Rollback decisions are made to protect the overall game environment and may result in the loss of progress made after the affected backup point.

19. Game Balancing and Updates

Pure Love Ragnarok may change game mechanics without prior notice when necessary.

This may include:

  • EXP rates.
  • Drop rates.
  • Monster statistics.
  • Item statistics.
  • Skill behavior.
  • NPC functions.
  • Quest rewards.
  • Daily quests.
  • Events.
  • Economy.
  • Classes.
  • Maps.
  • PvP/WoE mechanics.
  • Donation benefits.
  • VIP benefits.

These changes may be made to maintain balance, address exploits, improve gameplay, or support future development.

20. Account Termination

Pure Love Ragnarok may suspend or permanently terminate an account if the account or its user:

  • Violates these Terms.
  • Violates Server Rules.
  • Uses unauthorized software.
  • Exploits bugs.
  • Conducts prohibited RMT.
  • Commits fraud.
  • Harasses other users.
  • Attempts to compromise the Service.
  • Engages in behavior that threatens the stability or security of the Server.

Account termination may result in the loss of all associated Game Content.

21. User-Generated Content

Players may create or submit content through the Service, including messages, screenshots, reports, suggestions, and other community contributions.

You remain responsible for content you submit.

You must not submit content that:

  • Violates applicable law.
  • Infringes third-party rights.
  • Contains malicious code.
  • Contains personal information belonging to another person without authorization.
  • Contains illegal or prohibited material.
  • Harasses or threatens another person.

Pure Love Ragnarok may remove content that violates these Terms or applicable rules.

22. Privacy

Pure Love Ragnarok may collect and process information reasonably necessary to operate, secure, maintain, and improve the Service.

This may include account information, technical information, login information, IP addresses, gameplay information, transaction records, and security-related logs where applicable.

Information may be used for purposes including:

  • Account management.
  • Customer support.
  • Fraud prevention.
  • Anti-cheat investigations.
  • Security.
  • Server administration.
  • Service improvement.
  • Compliance with applicable legal obligations.

23. Third-Party Services

Pure Love Ragnarok may use third-party services for purposes such as:

  • Payment processing.
  • Authentication.
  • Hosting.
  • Analytics.

Pure Love Ragnarok is not responsible for the independent policies, availability, or practices of third-party services.

Users should review the applicable terms and privacy policies of those services.

24. Intellectual Property

The Pure Love Ragnarok website, original branding, original graphics, original scripts, original server systems, custom content, and other original materials created by the Pure Love Ragnarok team may be protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Players may not reproduce, redistribute, sell, modify, or commercially exploit Pure Love Ragnarok's original materials without permission.

Third-party intellectual property remains the property of its respective owners.

25. Disclaimer

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW.

PURE LOVE RAGNAROK DOES NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR PERMANENTLY AVAILABLE.

THE STAFF WILL MAKE REASONABLE EFFORTS TO OPERATE AND MAINTAIN THE SERVER, BUT CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT ALL GAME DATA, ACCOUNTS, ITEMS, CHARACTERS, OR PROGRESS WILL ALWAYS BE PRESERVED.

NOTHING IN THESE TERMS IS INTENDED TO EXCLUDE OR LIMIT RIGHTS THAT CANNOT LAWFULLY BE EXCLUDED OR LIMITED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW.

26. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Pure Love Ragnarok and its Staff shall not be responsible for losses arising from circumstances outside reasonable control, including:

  • Internet outages.
  • Hosting failures.
  • Hardware failures.
  • Cyberattacks.
  • DDoS attacks.
  • Malware.
  • Third-party service failures.
  • Unauthorized account access caused by user negligence.
  • Data corruption.
  • Temporary or permanent server downtime.

This provision does not exclude liability where such exclusion is prohibited by applicable law.

27. Changes to These Terms

Pure Love Ragnarok may update these Terms from time to time.

Changes may be made to:

  • Reflect new features.
  • Improve security.
  • Address new types of abuse.
  • Comply with applicable law.
  • Clarify existing rules.
  • Improve the operation of the Service.

The updated version will be published through the official Pure Love Ragnarok website or other official channels.

Continued use of the Service after the updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

28. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by applicable law.

29. Governing Law

These Terms shall be interpreted in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Where legally applicable, disputes concerning the Service should first be addressed through the official Pure Love Ragnarok support channel in an attempt to reach an appropriate resolution.

Nothing in these Terms prevents a user from exercising rights that cannot legally be waived or restricted.

Acceptance

By creating an account or using Pure Love Ragnarok, you acknowledge that:

  • You have read these Terms of Service.
  • You understand these Terms.
  • You agree to follow these Terms and the applicable Server Rules.
  • You understand that Pure Love Ragnarok is an unofficial private server.
  • You understand that Game Content may be modified or removed as necessary.
  • You understand that violations may result in account restrictions or termination.
